CCBO

President's Corner

Jim LantzWelcome to another year with CCBO!

Ronald L. Rhames
CCBO President

Let me begin by expressing my sincere appreciation for your confidence in electing me as your president. I look forward to working with the board and the membership to help make CCBO an even stronger organization during the next year.

I am sure you agree that CCBO is a very valuable organization. Its true strength is in its diverse membership which includes business officers representing a wide range of community colleges from large multi-campus urban institutions to small single-campus rural colleges. CCBO’s ability to provide a variety of professional development and leadership programming is vital to meeting the continuing needs of all our members.

While the board and I will be working on many goals and issues during the year, we will also be addressing strategic initiatives that I believe will position us to best meet the needs of our membership:

  • CCBO Strategic Plan
The CCBO Board will review the Mission, Core Values, Vision and Key Strategies to determine their relevancy for today’s environment and revise them as appropriate.
  • Enhance the Value of CCBO
The CCBO Board will develop and implement specific tactics to increase value for its existing membership and to attract new members.
  • Recruitment
The CCBO Board will seek to increase membership and support (institutional, individual and corporate).

The board and I welcome your input on these or any other matters that you believe would advance the organization. Additionally, we will seek your advice and hope to involve as many of you as possible in the decisions that the board will be making during the year.

I want to take this opportunity to again thank Jim Lantz for his leadership during the past two years. The recent success experienced by CCBO is attributable to Jim’s steady and effective guidance.

Let me close by wishing you, your families and your institutions a prosperous year.
